The following information was accurate as of late September 2020.

Wellbeing

If the pandemic has caused you financial hardship (e.g. due to large unavoidable and unexpected costs) you should contact your tutor. Your tutor’s email address can be found on your CamSIS page under ‘academic’.

If your mental or physical wellbeing has become worse during the pandemic the welfare officers, college counsellor and chaplain are available to be contacted. The following links allow access to mental health and wellbeing help:

If you think you have Coronavirus

If you have symptoms of coronavirus, have tested positive for coronavirus, are told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace, or someone in your household has tested positive for coronavirus, remain in your room.

You must:

  • Follow NHS advice, which can provide up-to date guidance through their online 111 service

  • Call the porter’s lodge at 01223 338000. Do not visit the porters’ lodge in person.

The College will then be able to support you during illness. Information from the University is available here. Self-isolation instructions from the College are available here.

If your symptoms include one or more of: fever, prolonged cough or change in sense of smell/taste, then the other members of your household need to quarantine in accordance with NHS guidance. If your symptoms are not on this list, other members of your household do not need to quarantine unless you test positive.

If you have not received a test, but have symptoms including fever, persistent cough, a change in sense of smell/taste, or any other 'flu-like symptoms such as sore throat or muscle aches, then please call Addenbrooke’s Hospital Occupational Health on 01223 216767 (08:30 to 16:30 Mon-Fri), stating that you wish to be tested as part of the University of Cambridge’s testing program. Do this as soon as possible.

Weekly testing programme

The university is offering a weekly PCR swab test to all undergraduate and postgraduate students in Cambridge, even if nobody in a household is showing symptoms, beginning on Monday 5th October. The JCR strongly encourages undergraduates to participate in this testing programme, which requires completion of this quick consent form. More information can be found here.
