Welfare contacts in college

The JCR Welfare Officers can be contacted about any issue, in confidence, at this link. The JCR Welfare Contact Sheet provides many useful points of contact and is displayed on all bathroom doors in College. It can also be accessed here, along with the additional resources linked on it via QR code on the printed copies (page 2 on this copy).

The Welfare Officers are there to make sure that you are happy, so please do email them or drop by their rooms at some point (they will provide a guideline document for use of their services, when are appropriate times to drop by etc). They also run weekly sessions, ParTEAs and miscellaneous events where you know you can’t miss them!

College Counselling Provisions

Terry Forbes–Mitchell has years experience working therapeutically with young people, and is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. She is not part of the University, so all communication with her remains completely confidential. Currently, she is not seeing anyone new to Corpus in 2024.

The College provides one-off counselling sessions with an external counsellor who has experience supporting Cambridge students. Sessions last 30 minutes every Thursday of Michaelmas 2024 and you can book slots via Moodle. The only person in Tutorial who can see you made a booking is George Rutherford who will send you a confirmation of the booking and a reminder before the session. If you’d like to book a session but the Thursday timings don’t work with your schedule, please contact George who will try and arrange an online session for you.

Chaplain

Matt Bullimore is readily available for all members of the College. Students and staff are warmly invited to come and chat and can expect a welcome in a non-judgemental and confidential environment.

Matt is here for the whole College community and so do feel free to come to his room D4 or arrange to talk about anything at all - whether you have a faith or not - and he will make himself available whether you bring a big problem, want to talk about the Christian faith or your own spirituality, or just fancy a chat.
