The 2025 JCR Committee

Welcome!

Continue scrolling to meet the Officers on the 2025 JCR Committee! Feel free to contact them, if you are a current, previous or prospective undergraduate, about any concerns that you may have :)

President: Harley Summers

hi everyone, i’m harley (he/they) and ur new jcr president! i’ve got big aspirations for the upcoming year, so stay tuned for some exciting stuff, and don’t hesitate to reach out!

(jcr-president@corpus.cam.ac.uk)

Vice President: Jacob Simmonds

Hey folks, my name is Jacob (he/him), and I am your VP for the next year! I’m really excited to start working on some big projects like the room ballot, reviving subcommittees and improving Freshers Week. Watch out for some JCR constitutional updates pending… and feel free to drop me a line if I can help!

(jcr-vicepresident@corpus.cam.ac.uk)

Treasurer: Jack Lawrence

Hi, I'm Jack (he/him), I'm a proud college father and hispol, and your new Treasurer. When not arguing about politics with my college husband, or putting on a textbook display of mediocre defending on the football pitch, I will be forensically scouring the JCR accounts. I'm excited to give our societies the money they need to grow, and hopefully provide a bar tab for slacks!

(jcr-treasurer@corpus.cam.ac.uk)

Secretary: Alice Abraham

Hey guys, I’m Alice (she/her), a second year English student and your shiny new JCR secretary! I’ll be all up in your inbox for the foreseeable future, and blessing your timeline with Canva creations on instagram… Give me a shout if there’s anything you want on the Corporeal/Insta!

(jcr-secretary@corpus.cam.ac.uk)

Access: Chloe Chapman-Deas

Hello! I’m Chloe (she/her) and I'm going to be your new access officer! As an English undergrad you will definitely be able to find me avoiding my reading in the peli or in cute little cafes dotted around town, or even disastrously late in the library. In this role I will work vigilantly towards emphasising and amending our welcoming environment - aiming to destigmatise Cambridge life for existing and prospective students and replace it with a positive perception of corpus instead! Feel absolutely free to come to me with any outreach ideas or thoughts you may have :)

(jcr-access@corpus.cam.ac.uk)

Sports and Societies: Alex Lee

Hi all, I’m Alex (he/him). As your new Sports and Socs officer I will be keeping you informed about the various activities on offer in college and pestering you to take part in them. I will also be building on the work of my predecessor in organising this year’s Corpus Challenge away in Oxford. Outside of my degree and my extensive JCR duties, my hobbies include running, gymming and playing touch rugby, so I thought this role would be quite fitting for me. Feel free to reach out if you’re thinking of starting a new society or if you have any sports-and-societies-related questions.

(jcr-sportsandsocieties@corpus.cam.ac.uk)

Catering, Accommodation, and Facilities: Yuly Klinov

Hi, I’m Yuly (he/him) and I’m a second year economics student. As Catering, Accomodation, and Facilities (CAF) Officer I liaise with the college about these areas on your behalf. Whether for feedback on the food, housing issues, suggestions regarding common areas, or just a chat, drop me a line or come find me any time!

Welfare: Denis Navickas

Hi, I’m Denis (he/him), a first year HSPS victim coming from Ireland and one of your new welfare officers! I’ll be working hard with the other officers to help with welfare issues in college and throw top-notch parteas. I’ll be particularly focused on promoting mental health and finding ways to ensure reliable access to support. As a fresher, I’ve gone through my fair share of bumps in the road and know what it feels like to not belong sometimes. I’m always happy to try help with any issues/questions or have a chat about anything over some snacks, so don’t hesitate to send me a text, ambush me in the Taylor (on the rare occasion that I’m actually there), or slip a perfumed letter under my door.

(jcr-welfare3@corpus.cam.ac.uk)

Welfare: Melita Rodrigues

Hi I’m Melita (she/ her), a 2nd year English student and one of your new welfare officers!! You can find me in the taylor usually online shopping/ watching instagram reels instead of doing my degree or on a train to London! I hope to be a friendly face around college and continue to make it a welcoming environment. I am always happy to have a chat about any of your concerns :))

(jcr-welfare2@corpus.cam.ac.uk)

Welfare: Sebastian Myhre

Hi! I’m Seb, a third-year music student and one of your welfare students this year (well, until I graduate in july…) I welcome any and all distractions from my degree so please get in touch if you ever need to:) See you around!

Ethnic Diversity: Kemi Akeredolu

Hiya, I'm Kemi! I'm a first-year lawyer from Liverpool, despite my weak scouse accent (💔). I'm passionate about making Corpus enjoyable for everyone, especially those from ethnic minority backgrounds! I'm planning on hosting cross-college events for BAME students and also sharing career opportunities tailored to ethnic minority students. Besides that, I enjoy listening to afrobeats, singing in fitz gospel choir, watching anime and collecting hello kitty themed items! Feel free to talk to me about any concerns regarding life in Corpus as an ethnic minority, or any concerns at all!

(jcr-ethnicminorities@corpus.cam.ac.uk)

Disabled Students: Benjamin Gombala

Hello, I’m Benjamin (he/him), a first-year engineering student and I am your Disabled Students Officer. I’m committed to making Corpus a more accessible and inclusive place. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need any advice, or have any suggestions or concerns about accessibility — whether related to disabilities, health conditions, or mental health; I’ll do my best to help.

(jcr-dso@corpus.cam.ac.uk)

Entertainments: Dunya Hamchaoui and Cressida Tremlett-Williams

Hi guys we are Dunya and Cressida and we are your new ents officers! Cressida: I am a first year philosopher and I enjoy tennis, lacrosse (occasionally), drama, debating and cocktails. Dunya: I am a first year classicist and in my free time I enjoy playing bass, going to the gym, drama, lacrosse (occasionally too) and van of death.

We’re college married so expect us to spice things up a bit next term 😉🌶️ We have lots of new ideas but we’re always open to suggestions so feel free to reach out on the ents insta or privately! We look forward to seeing you guys at ALL the slacks 🔫

Class Act: Jacob Sawyer

Hi I'm Jacob (he/him) and I'll be your class act officer this year! When I'm not at spoons or van of death you'll probably find me locking in (playing solitaire or clash royale) on the top floor of the taylor. If you ever see me around college, I'm always happy to have a chat about anything, JCR-related or not. Class act is one of the more open roles so if there's anything at all you think I might be able to help with, I'm always here to talk!
